AFCA appoints Mathew Paine as Executive General Manager of People and Culture
We are delighted to have partnered with Justin Untersteiner on the appointment of Mathew Paine as the Executive General Manager of People and Culture for the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) following an extensive executive search undertaken by Johnson Partners.
Mathew will lead a skilled HR team which will work to ensure AFCA has the right people, culture, resources and tools to ensure that it is a high performing, agile organisation, well-positioned to achieve its long-term goals.
Mathew is an experienced human resources leader who was most recently the Chief People Officer at the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. He has held previous roles with the International Convention Centre Sydney and Sofitel Luxury Hotels.
AFCA is an independent dispute resolution scheme that handles complaints from consumers and small businesses about financial products and services provided by financial services firms. AFCA was established in 2018, replacing the previous dispute resolution schemes, the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), the Credit and Investments Ombudsman (CIO) and the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal (SCT).
