Michael is Managing Partner, Board, Succession & Leadership Advisory and a member of Johnson Partners’ leadership team.

He works with boards and CEOs on their most important leadership decisions, from CEO and board succession, to the appointment and assessment of senior executives, to shaping and strengthening their leadership team over time. He also leads our Chief People Officer and Real Estate practices.

Michael brings over two decades of experience across executive search, leadership advisory and senior executive roles. He has held Group Executive positions in ASX listed organisations, including Chief People & Group Services Officer at Link Group and Chief Operating Officer at Stockland. He also spent time with Egon Zehnder and held senior HR roles with Westpac and Goldman Sachs across Australia and Asia.

This blend of operating and advisory experience shapes how he works. He brings structure and clarity to complex succession and leadership decisions, working closely with clients and staying hands on in every engagement. He is known for his judgement and calm, considered approach.
Michael is Chair and National President of the Australian HR Institute (AHRI), a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), a Fellow Certified HR Practitioner (FCHRP), and a certified Organisational Coach.
