Jason Johnson is the Founder and CEO of Johnson Partners. He established the firm in 2005 with a clear mandate, to deliver a faster, more impactful model for board and executive search, grounded in partner-led execution and a commitment to building high-performing, inclusive teams.
He leads the firm’s CEO and Financial Services Practices. Over more than two decades at the helm, Jason and his colleagues have appointed over 3,000 of the region’s most influential leaders, shaping leadership across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.

Jason is a trusted confidant to Chairs and Boards on critical leadership and succession decisions. He brings clear commercial judgement and more than 25 years’ experience advising on complex, high-stakes appointments.

He is also recognised for his contribution to advancing diversity in leadership. Jason co-founded the Asian Australian Leadership Awards, now in their ninth year, and established the firm’s partnership with the AICD to deliver the Chairs Mentoring Program for culturally and racially diverse women. This commitment has been recognised globally, with Johnson Partners receiving the inaugural Inclusion, Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Award from the Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants.

Prior to founding Johnson Partners, Jason was a Partner in two global search firms, where he served as Asia Pacific Managing Partner and as a member of the Global Executive Committee of a New York-listed firm.

He is a former Global Chairman of the Association of Executive Search & Leadership Consultants and is widely regarded as a leading voice on leadership and talent.

Jason began his career as a corporate lawyer at Allens. He holds degrees in Economics (Finance) and Law (Honours) from Macquarie University.
