Peter Reidy as Chief Executive, KiwiRail and a refreshed Board are announcing a series of new senior executive appointments that are building ‘bench strength’ in the leadership team with talent that will accelerate business and cultural transformation.

With the increased complexity, diversity and scale of the company’s growth and operations, there has been a need to lift both the capability and commerciality of the in-house team overseeing these expanding responsibilities.

Vanessa will lead teams across legal, commercial, and real estate streamlining these key elements of the business.

She has enjoyed a 25-year career in both the corporate and public sectors. She has successfully demonstrated the ability to lead teams through significant transformation and brings broad  functional experience including legal, strategy and operations. Prior to joining KiwiRail, Vanessa held roles with FNZ Group as Chief Operating Officer, ACC as Chief General Counsel and Chorus where she began her tenure as General Counsel before assuming Executive General Manager of Strategy & Business Operations. Prior to Chorus, Vanessa held legal roles with Telecom New Zealand.
