KiwiRail appoints André Lovatt as Chief Infrastructure Officer
Johnson Partners is delighted to have partnered with Peter Reidy at KiwiRail on the appointment of André Lovatt as Chief Infrastructure Officer following an extensive executive search.
André joins KiwiRail’s executive team at a time its transformation and growth program is accelerating and his experience of 25 years’ delivering major infrastructure projects across Asia Pacific will be critical as the organisation drives a focused agenda around a leading and investing in reliable and resilient infrastructure and assets that support future customer needs.
After completing his civil engineering training at the University of Canterbury, André’s career focused on leading the design and delivery of major building projects, including 10 years as Principal of design giant Arup in Singapore. He returned home to take up the CEO role of the Christchurch Arts Centre in October 2012, focussed on the restoration of the Arts precinct following the substantial damage it received during the 2010/2011 earthquakes. In 2018, he was appointed to Auckland Airport where he was responsible for leading the infrastructure development and delivery teams focusing on the implementation of its 30-year vision to build a world-class airport.
