Wespac NZ appoints Debbie Birch as NED

We are delighted to have partnered again with Westpac New Zealand Limited (WNZL) and Board Chair, Pip Greenwood, on the appointment of Debbie Birch (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Raukawa Ki Te Tonga) as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

The Board of Westpac New Zealand (WNZL) has looked to continue its succession and renewal programme by building both is capability and resource, enabling further growth in key targeted areas.

Additionally, it has taken the opportunity to broaden the diversity of skills and experience to further recognise anticipated customer and client needs.

Debbie has over 30 years’ experience of financial markets experience including global investment portfolios in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. She is an experienced investment analyst with capital markets expertise in origination, distribution, pricing, and portfolio management.

Her governance career has included a diverse range of board roles on Māori/iwi and Crown organisations with a strong emphasis on Māori economic development and long term sustainable wealth creation. She is a Non-Executive Director of NZX-listed, Tourism Holdings Limited and has also held a number of industry and government appointments in the Financial Services sector, especially relating to investment.
