Based in Wellington, Greg joins Transpower’s Executive Leadership Team, strengthening the organisation’s strategic finance capability and partnering across the business to support the acceleration of electrification and improved customer outcomes.

Greg is a highly experienced senior finance executive with a strong track record across public and private sectors, operating in complex, capital-intensive and highly regulated environments. Most recently, he served as Assistant Governor and General Manager, Finance & Commercial Operations at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, where he led enterprise-wide finance and commercial operations and contributed to the organisation’s strategy reset and transition to a new governance framework.

Prior to this, Greg was Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at Steel & Tube Holdings, where he played a key role in a significant financial turnaround, and Chief Financial Officer and Branch Manager at Wellington Electricity, leading major refinancing initiatives and strengthening regulatory engagement. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance roles at Opus International Consultants and KPMG in New Zealand, the UK and the United States.

Greg brings strong commercial judgement, capital markets expertise and a collaborative leadership style, with deep experience supporting transformation while maintaining disciplined governance and stakeholder confidence.

Transpower owns and operates New Zealand’s national electricity transmission grid, playing a critical role in delivering a reliable, resilient and low-carbon energy system for Aotearoa.
