For their new NED, the Fletcher Building Board was seeking to appoint a director with relevant building sector experience, insights on the development of high-performance teams, the building of a customer-focused culture and the achievement of strong financial results.

Jacqui brings significant industry expertise from her senior executive roles in the building sector retail industry.

Jacqui led Bunnings’ New Zealand operations for 10 years and delivered a rapid expansion of the store network and offering doubling the turnover of the New Zealand business in the first five years of her tenure coupled with a significant increase in profitability. She subsequently served concurrently as New Zealand Head and as Group HR Director for Bunnings, overseeing the HR function for Bunnings across Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Bunnings, Jacqui worked for Spotlight as General Manager Operations where she was accountable for operational performance and customer experience across 112 stores in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Jacqui will be appointed to chair the People and Remuneration Committee, recognising her significant experience in this space, and will also join the Nominations Committee.

Fletcher Building is one of Australasia’s largest companies operating in the building sector, and dual listed on the NZX and ASX. It is a significant manufacturer, retailer, home builder and partner on major construction and infrastructure projects.

Fletcher Building recently completed a major board renewal process to strengthen governance and leadership. This follows earlier 2024 departures from the Board as part of a broader refresh to align the board with strategic goals. The changes aimed to enhance oversight of financial performance, operational efficiency, and stakeholder returns, particularly under new Chief Executive, Andrew Reding.
