| Craigs Investment Partners was seeking a Chief People Officer to build and lead a contemporary People and Performance function that enables high performance, supports growth and delivers an exceptional people experience. The client required a senior executive capable of developing a clear people strategy aligned to business objectives, operating effectively in a complex, regulated financial services environment.
The role called for strong board and executive engagement, deep experience across culture, organisational development, remuneration and compliance, and the ability to lead a values‑led, inclusive culture while supporting Craigs’ long‑term strategic ambitions.
| Melanie is a highly experienced People and Culture executive with a career spanning New Zealand and Australia, leading people strategy and organisational transformation in complex, regulated and capital‑intensive environments. She joins Craigs from Port of Tauranga, where she is currently General Manager Corporate Services, with responsibility for People and Culture, payroll and strategic risk. Prior to this, Melanie was General Manager People and Culture at Trustpower, where she was a member of the executive team and played a key role in leadership development, organisational transformation and governance engagement.
Melanie brings deep capability across people strategy, leadership and culture, supported by strong board‑level experience, including participation in people and remuneration committees. She is known for modernising people systems, building leadership depth and aligning workforce capability to commercial and operational priorities.
With her track record of leading transformation in complex environments, Melanie is well placed to embed a people strategy that enables execution, supports leaders and underpins Craigs’ next phase of development. |
