Auckland Airport is delivering an investment programme that will transform its aviation and transport offering, while improving the livability and economy of New Zealand. Over the next decade AIA will deliver the Airport’s largest infrastructure upgrade, executing a $6billion portfolio of programmes and projects in a brownfield environment. The Head of Infrastructure Operational Interface will be key to ensuring this, by developing the Infrastructure Programme Operational Interface Management Framework, proactively managing all the interfaces between the infrastructure programmes and Airport Operations and relevant stakeholders.

Christian brings extensive experience in the planning, delivery, operations, and maintenance of transport infrastructure projects, having successfully led major public transport projects in complex stakeholder environments. He has worked in France, South Korea, the USA, Canada, Australia, and most recently New Zealand, where he settled in January 2019. Since then, Christian has been working at Auckland Transport as their General Manager of Rail Delivery and Transport Investment and is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.

He is a seasoned leader and expert in the transport industry, with 30 years of experience in various roles across the public and private sectors. During his career he has overseen, the development of investment case for an annual $1.4b infrastructure portfolio, delivery of multiple rail projects and electric trains, and the integration of major transport projects such as the City Rail Link, the Northwest busway, and the Second Harbour Crossing projects.

He has held Directorships with Additional Waitemata Harbour Connections Partners Steering Group, Auckland Light Rail Sponsors Steering Committee, City Rail Link Whole of Life Board, Project Board Alliance for the Auckland City Rail Link, Canberra Metro Operations (Canberra Light Rail) and MARS (Reims Metropole Public Transport.
