On his appointment, Jia Rong Low will take over from Paul Wilson who has led the regional Internet address registry for the past 25 years. As the leader of the organisation and its primary public representative, the Director General will lead APNIC staff and serve its members.

Most recently Jia Rong Low was the Vice President and Managing Director of ICANN’s Asia Pacific office. During his 11 years with ICANN, Jia Rong has contributed significantly to the Asia Pacific Internet community and established key partnerships with stakeholders, government bodies, and regional institutions.

With extensive experience working with the Internet community and facilitating policy-making, Jia Rong has demonstrated a profound commitment to fostering a stable, open, and secure Internet. Jia Rong’s proven track record of collaborative leadership and his dedication to inclusivity are vital to addressing the needs of APNIC’s diverse membership.

The Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) is one of the five regional Internet registries globally and part of the Number Resource Organization. An open, membership-based non-profit, it serves over 7,800 members across 62 economies in the Asia Pacific region.
