The Johnson Partners team worked with PAG Asia Capital and the Board of Craveable brands on the appointment of our current CEO. The process was rigorous and the level of communication was far beyond our expectations. The appointee has quickly made a positive impact and driven material change across the team. The breadth and quality of the process, and the candidates the team were able to rapidly bring to the table were outstanding.”

About Johnson Partners

  • Executive Search Experts

Our team comprises some of the industry’s leading consultants from the world’s most prominent board search and advisory, executive search and recruitment firms, enabling instant access to broad global networks. We value building trusted, long-term relationships with businesses to help them find and develop outstanding leaders, improve board and executive performance, and align organisational culture with strategy.

  • Building Leading Boards

Johnson Partners’ specialist board services include advising on the structure, composition and operation of boards. We review individual director and team performance, conduct skills analysis, implement Chair and Director search and advise on non-executive director remuneration.

Acquiring Boardroom Partners in 2020 – a leading Australian Board Search and Advisory firm – strengthened our commitment to helping organisations to build exceptional boards of directors and to implement market-leading corporate governance. Together, with the team at Boardroom Partners we have made more than 350 Chair and non-executive director appointments and have delivered over 200 Board Reviews.

  • Championing Diversity

In a marketplace that connects across cultures and continents, access to a diverse workforce is essential. Increasingly, boards and executives are under pressure to ensure that the leadership teams of the organisation reflect the breadth of the customers, markets and stakeholders that they serve. We actively address diversity in the workplace, recognising that it strengthens a company’s ability to bring a full range of perspectives to their clients.

Over the past 12 months 72% of our executive appointments and 76% of our board appointments have been women. Our focus doesn’t stop at gender; we are committed to every shortlist including one culturally diverse candidate.

Johnson Partners are the proud founders of the 40 Under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australian Awards. Founded in 2019, the Awards address the under-representation of young Asian-Australians in senior leadership positions by recognising their achievements in a variety of fields. In its founding year, over 300 applicants put themselves forward for the award. The award nominees are selected by Johnson Partners and a panel of judges chaired by Jason Johnson, Founder and Managing Partner of Johnson Partners, making them more visible amongst the wider community and by providing a stepping-stone to further leadership opportunities. Winners are announced at The Asian-Australian Leadership Summit (an initiative co-convened by Johnson Partners, Asialink, PwC and the Australian National University).

  • ACCESS TO TALENT

Being a globally connected firm no longer requires a physical presence in major international cities. Unlike our competitors, we possess no off-limits abroad and few within Australia and New Zealand, enabling us to access talent in virtually every relevant organisation without any conflicts of interest. In turn, our selection is devoid of any bias or external loyalties. We operate solely in the interest of our clients, applying absolute discretion in our dealings with both clients and candidates.

  • GLOBAL REACH

We are widely recognised for appointing executives possessing outstanding experience in offshore markets. Our proprietary ExpatPORTAL is a dynamic resource that allows us to engage with, and track the careers of, leading global executives who we can then access immediately when an appropriate opportunity arises.

In 2022, we acquired Caldwell New Zealand wholly into the Johnson Partners business. At the same time we began our alliance partnership with Caldwell globally, extending on our capacity to connect and engage with leading talent around the world.

  • PERFECT FIT

Our proprietary CultureFIT technology aligns a client’s strategic hiring needs with each candidate’s experiences and attributes. CultureFIT provides a framework for ranking and benchmarking candidates’ relative alignment with each specific role and organisational culture to guarantee a successful match.

Charitable Partnerships

Johnson Partners has a commitment to assisting to eradicating the cycle of homelessness for all Australians. We do so through a number of long-standing partnerships.

Since 2007 we have proudly supported Caretakers Cottage, a Sydney-based youth refuge dedicated to easing the trauma of homelessness by helping kids and teenagers in crisis and teaching them the resilient life skills they need to re-integrate successfully within society.

Founded 40 years ago as a pioneering NSW shelter, its legacy has transformed the way society cares for displaced youth. Possessing a comprehensive approach to managing the young homeless, it additionally assists families of troubled children and adolescents facing challenging times.

In addition to contributing significant funds to the organisation over the last decade (including financing and preparing the annual Christmas party), Johnson Partners provides ongoing strategic advice to the board regarding the management matters. The team also proudly offers a suite of services to assist those in the charity’s care to equip them for the entering the workplace – from providing job interview workshops and CV preparation to advising on how to dress for success on a budget.

We also further support the work of Lifeline; a non-profit organisation that provides a free, 24-hour telephone crisis support service in Australia. Volunteer crisis supporters provide suicide prevention services, mental health support and emotional assistance, not only via telephone, but face to face and online.

For the past 11 years, our Founder and CEO has participated in Vinnies CEO Sleepout which now raises over $5 million per year to fight homelessness.
